Support Groups

Education and Support Group For Asperger Syndrome / High Functioning Autism

The education and support group meetings are FREE and open to all the public.
Parents, caregivers, educators, healthcare professionals and friends of
Asperger/HFA/PDD children and young adults,
are welcome and encouraged to attend.

This group meets the second Wednesday of the month, 6:30-8:30pm, Greenwood Senior Activity Center, 525 North 85th Street, SEATTLE. Call Karen Roe at (206) 782-2232 or email MasterCoachKaren@KarenRoe.com for more information.

Sharing at meetings: We have announcements at 6:30, and our speaker from 7:00 to 7:45, followed by questions/answers with the speaker, and plenty of sharing of experiences.

Living With Autism Group
1/1/08

Dr. Steve Becker is going to be leading several new therapy groups for Asperger's Syndrome.

Partner Therapy groups are for partners of people with AS. Live more happily with your spouse with AS, by learning self-care, setting realistic expectations, working on anger, avoidance, and sexuality.

Group 1 is at our office in Bellevue on Thursdays, Jan 10-31 from 6-7:30.

Group 2 is at our Des Moines office on Fridays, Feb 8-29, 12:00-1:30 PM


Parenting Children and Teens with AS--Practical strategies for caregivers coping with stress, bullying, avoidance, anger, aggression and other behavior problems. Meets at our office in Des Moines, Thursdays 10:30-noon, Feb 7-28.


Friends Club for Teens

Group 1 will meet in Bellevue on Thursdays, Jan 10-March 17, 4:30-5:30. This group is for teens and their parents--for part of the hour they meet together; for the rest of the hour, the teens have socialization time while parents have the chance to consult with Dr. Becker and discuss parenting issues.

Friends Club, Group 2 meets ongoing in Tacoma at the TACID Center, Mondays 4:30-5:30.


We also have two Living with Asperger's groups for adults with Asperger's: one meets on Wednesdays 5:30-6:30 at Group Health in Seattle, the other is in Tacoma at the TACID Center, Mondays 5:30-6:30.
